Probate

Our charging rates for probate work are as follows:

  • – £320.00  (plus VAT) per hour for the Principal Solicitor’s work.
  • – £250.00 (plus VAT )per hour for an Assistant Solicitor’s work.

When work is carried out by both the Principal Solicitor and an Assistant Solicitor a composite rate of £300.00 (plus VAT) is generally applied.

Where we act as the Executors of the Will a responsibility charge of 1% of the net value of the estate is also applied. This does not apply if we are merely instructed by the Executors to deal with the administration of the estate on their behalf.

Powers of Attorney

Our costs for taking instructions , preparing, executing, certifying and registering Powers of Attorney and then providing appropriately marked copies following their registration is :

  • – £400.00 for one Power of Attorney.
  • – £500.00 if both Powers of Attorney, i.e. Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare are executed.
  • – In addition to this, the Office of the Public Guardian’s fee which is currently £82.00 is charged as is VAT.

Our fee for simple and straightforward family Wills is £200.00 plus VAT, but if Wills are more complex or involve setting up Trusts or arrangements for extended family members our costs are based on an expected hourly charge and a written estimate would be given before instructions were taken when we had a reasonable idea of what was involved.    Typically, even the most complex Wills would not be charged at any more than £500.00 plus VAT.

Divorce, Matrimonial and Children’s Proceedings

The costs for dealing with divorce, separation and financial matters arising therefrom and in relation to Children’s  Proceedings are charged at the following rates:

  • – Senior Solicitor   £320.00 (plus VAT).
  • – Assistant Solicitor  £275.00 (plus VAT).

When the work is shared between the Senior Solicitor and Assistant Solicitor a composite rate of £300.00 plus VAT is applied.

Commercial Conveyancing

Our firm offers advice on Commercial Conveyancing, Landlord and Tenant law, Lease renewals, Company and Business Sales and Acquisitions, Commercial Mortgages and Guarantees.

Prices are based on your hourly charging rate of £320.00 but owing to the fact that the variables in such matters are so great, we give a written estimate after having been briefed as to what is involved in the sale or acquisition or the terms of the proposed grant of the Lease.

An initial interview for the preparation of a full estimate will be given. This can be done either by personal appointment at our office or over the telephone.

Business Services at Graham White & Co

The firm offers advice on all Commercial Matters, Acquisitions and Sales, either by  purchase of Company Assets or by Acquisition of Shares, Commercial Conveyancing, Landlord & Tenant Law, Lease Renewals, Commercial Mortgages and Guarantees.

Prices are based on your hourly charging rate of £320.00 but owing to the fact that the variables in such matters are so great, we give a written estimate after having been briefed as to what is involved in the sale or acquisition or the terms of the proposed grant of the Lease.

Our Costs are quoted comprehensively and you will not suffer the “cheap flight effect” of add ons.  They include the costs from our taking instruction until completion, stamping and registration of your Title, or until the property has been sold, any mortgages repaid and funds sent to you.
